How it works

Before we dive into some indicative prices, let’s take a quick look at the process, so you’re clear about how I work.

1. The preliminaries

LET'S CHAT


Book in a short intro chat (we’ll only need 15 to 30 minutes max) and tell me what you need.

 

I’ll give you some top-level thoughts and a general idea of how I’d approach your project.

 

After a quick chat, we’ll know if we’re the right fit for each other.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL

I’ll send you a quote outlining my recommendations, best approach, inclusions, and timing.

 

Please be aware that I’m often booked up a few weeks in advance, so it’s best to plan ahead.

50% DEPOSIT UPFRONT

If you’re happy to proceed, simply sign my quote (or accept by email) and pay 50% of the final invoice.

 

I’ll need this to hit my bank account before we get to work.
 

2. The warm-up

UP NEXT? THE BRIEFING PROCESS

This involves a comprehensive brief with oodles of questions. You might wonder why I’m so nosy and how it’s all relevant. But I’m unapologetic about it, because I know from experience that the end result (copy or strategy) is only as good as the brief. 

Let’s break it down. Let’s say I have only a vague idea of what your product or service is, who it benefits, and who your ideal client is. That uncertainty will flow into my words and the end result will be just that – wishy-washy, bland, not sure what it’s trying to say. Think oatmeal in written form.

I know you don’t want that. So I have questions. Lots of ‘em. But I don’t expect you to fill it all out on your own. Instead, I like you to digest the brief and let it marinate in your mind for a couple of days. Then we’ll have a call and I’ll ask these questions over a casual cuppa, letting the conversation go in different directions if it’s relevant. 


Why? Well, human connection is important, for one. And secondly? Sometimes having a candid chat can reveal little nuggets of gold that may not come up if you’re sitting down completing a formal brief.

3. The main event

First draft, second draft, third draft and proofing.

I crack my knuckles, do a few stretches, and get to work. I’ll research, write, revise, and then do it all again.

 

My prices include up to two rounds of amends, so we have time to fine-tune the copy until it’s exactly what you need. 

​Once you’re happy with the copy or strategy, I’ll send you a project sign off form and the final invoice.

 

And voila, we’re all done!

I’ll also ask for feedback about what it was like to work with me. This way, I’m constantly refining my processes so it’s an excellent result for you, my client.

CONTENT STRATEGY: From $1,750 + GST

Make sure your content is purposeful, targeted, and resonates with your audience. We’ll dive deep into your social media and Google Analytics to find what’s currently working for your audience. We’ll clarify the purpose of your content, as well as your content pillars, target audience, channel mix and optimum posting times.

 

+ Includes a 1.5 hour in-depth briefing session. 

BRAND STRATEGY & TONE OF VOICE GUIDE
$2,900 + GST

Just as a graphic designer would produce a style guide to define your business’s look and feel, a brand tone of voice guide is a compass for your writing style.

 

It’s the foundation and direction for all written content and will define your brand purpose, position, and values, as well as your tone of voice and key messaging.

 

It will also clarify grammatical conventions, standardised spelling and words to avoid.

WEBSITE COPY
3 pages from $1,500 + GST 
5 pages from $2,200 + GST

Get SEO-friendly copy, title tags and meta descriptions, all geared for Googly goodness.

 

This includes an in-depth briefing, basic SEO keyword research, and two rounds of revisions.

+ I’ll also throw in Contact page copy as a freebie.

400-word article for your blog or newsletter - $400 + GST


800-word article for your blog or newsletter - $650 + GST

Blog bundle of 5 x 400-word blogs, plus social media teasers - $1,700 + GST
